Penns Valley Area has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Central Cambria Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 35 points the game before, Penns Valley Area were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 35-7 loss at the hands of Tyrone. Penns Valley Area was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.
Ty Watson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Watson hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games.
Central Cambria can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They blew past Westmont Hilltop, posting a 34-0 win on the road. The victory was just what Central Cambria needed coming off of a 35-12 loss in their prior game.
Central Cambria's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grady Snyder, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Snyder was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 61 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Pittsinger, who threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns.
Penns Valley Area has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Central Cambria, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
