Gabrielino has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Mountain View Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Gabrielino's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches.
Gabrielino can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent match on Monday. They blew past El Monte, posting a 73-32 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Gabrielino has posted since December 18, 2023.
Meanwhile, Mountain View pushed their score all the way to 60 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 74-60 bruising from South El Monte. Mountain View has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gabrielino's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points per game. As for Mountain View, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
Gabrielino strolled past Mountain View when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a score of 59-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gabrielino since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
