The Holy Cross Knights and the St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints will round out the year against one another at 6:45 p.m. on Friday at. Holy Cross is hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Holy Cross had to settle for a 51-48 defeat against Math Civics & Sciences. While losing is never fun, Holy Cross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 428th in New York, while Math Civics & Sciences is ranked 98th in Pennsylvania).
Meanwhile, St. Stephen's & St. Agnes was able to grind out a solid win over Severn School on Saturday, taking the game 61-54.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Stephen's & St. Agnes to victory, but perhaps none more so than Blake Neal, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Kyan Bowman, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Holy Cross' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Stephen's & St. Agnes, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
