The Miami Trace Panthers will take on the Unioto Shermans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Miami Trace will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Miami Trace took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Fairfield, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Panthers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lions 12-11.

Kaylee Everhart was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zoey Grooms, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Keionnie Ackley also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last match, Unioto made sure to put some runs up on the board against Huntington on Friday. The Shermans came out on top against the Huntsmen by a score of 10-6.
Kendal Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Haylee Hull was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie Eisel, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Unioto was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huntington only posted a batting average of .179.
Miami Trace's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-10. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Unioto, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Miami Trace hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .380. However, it's not like Unioto struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Miami Trace suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Unioto when the teams last played back in April. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
