The Carver A&T Wildcats fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Western Tech & Environmental Science Wolverines on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 58-50 to the Wolverines. Carver A&T has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elisah Guity, who scored 18 points along with two steals. That was a full 36% of Carver A&T's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jada McAliley, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Carver A&T has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-6.
Carver A&T has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on February 5th. Owings Mills is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses. As for Western Tech & Environmental Science, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Southern focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Monday.
