Crest Ridge came tearing into Monday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.8 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the South Nodaway Longhorns by a score of 61-49. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Longhorns are ranked 369th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crest Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for South Nodaway, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.
