A feisty cat fight will be fought as Swink Lions take on Peyton Panthers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Swink knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Peyton likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Swink got the win against Centauri by a conclusive 13-3. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Nate Cabrera made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Paolucci, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Luke Hanagan, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Swink always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .537 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Peyton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 6-1 win over Hoehne on Friday.
Bryce Love was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Zayden Ebbert was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Swink's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Peyton, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Swink was able to grind out a solid victory over Peyton in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-4. Does Swink have another victory up their sleeve, or will Peyton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
