After a string of four wins, the Reeltown Rebels's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 69-62 to Central of Coosa County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Reeltown in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost nine in a row.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Finn Henderson, who scored 26 points. Ja'Markius Smith was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Reeltown smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central of Coosa County only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Central of Coosa County was led to victory by Connor Mitchell and Elijah Richardson. Mitchell scored 21 points along with five rebounds, while Richardson scored 14 points along with eight steals and seven assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Richardson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisha Hayes, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Central of Coosa County, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.
Reeltown will take on the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central of Coosa County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
