Baseball Recap: Western Snags 11th Victory in Last 13 Games

Western had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt North Miami on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 12-5. Considering the Panthers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Western got a massive performance out of Gavin Denton, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was Denton's first of the season. Ryan Rodman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Western has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for North Miami, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3.

Western and North Miami should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Panthers will challenge Taylor at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (51 vs. 346). Meanwhile, North Miami (ranked 130th) will meet Culver Community (ranked 359th) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
