This season hasn't been kind to The Vasquez Mustangs, who are still winless after their tenth game. They were dealt a 54-8 defeat at the hands of Santa Rosa Academy on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 42 points in the game before, Vasquez couldn't push the score so high this time.
Daniel Joseph marlow looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 58 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 126 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Spykstra, who rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Vasquez's defeat was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-10. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.3 points per game. As for Santa Rosa Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Vasquez does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Santa Rosa Academy will look to defend their home field on Friday against Rancho Alamitos at 7:00 p.m. Rancho Alamitos will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
