St. Michael is 10-0 against Hyde Park since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The St. Michael's Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Hyde Park Panthers at 7:30 p.m. St. Michael's knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 contests -- so hopefully Hyde Park likes a good challenge.
Even though Antonian Prep scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, St. Michael's still came out on top. St. Michael's enjoyed a cozy 76-61 victory over Antonian Prep. Given St. Michael's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Antonian Prep is ranked 49th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bo Ogden and Aiden Disu were among the main playmakers for St. Michael's as the former scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and the latter scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sugeeth Jinkal, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Hyde Park earned a 58-46 win over South Austin W last Friday. The win was just what Hyde Park needed coming off of a 69-47 defeat in their prior match.
Hyde Park's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Knox Riemondi, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five steals, and Charlie Burton, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Hank Rippy was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals and two blocks.
St. Michael's pushed their record up to 26-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 19.83 points. As for Hyde Park, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14.
St. Michael's took their victory against Hyde Park when the teams last played back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 84-58. Does St. Michael's have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hyde Park turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
