After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Millbrook, Broughton was happy to have turned things around  on Friday. They breezed past the Wakefield Wolverines to the tune of  42-14. The Capitals' offense checked out after the first half but had enough  points banked to take the game anyway.
 Xavier Howard was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 87 yards and three  touchdowns on only seven carries, while also catching one  score. Broughton is undefeated when  Howard posts two or  more  rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Another rusher making a difference was  Austin Youngs, who rushed for 64 yards and one  TD.
 Broughton didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wakefield to a completion percentage of just 42.1%. The Capitals have been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.59 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.59 in their last three games.
 Broughton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Chandler Wiggins and  Jack Vannoy. Broughton received some extra help from  Davis Cunningham, whose fumble return for a touchdown  made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
  Grayson Brogdon and  Grayson Clopton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Brogdon picked up 152 receiving yards and one  touchdown, while  Clopton threw for 153 yards and one  TD.
The  win  got Broughton back to even at 4-4. As for Wakefield,  they are  on  a  14-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.
 Broughton has already played their next contest,  a  41-6  victory against Athens Drive on the 24th. As for Wakefield, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  game,  a  55-0  loss against Millbrook on the 24th.
