Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lillian Bowen led the charge by scoring 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bowen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Laramie Glathar, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Pawnee City, who are still winless after their 11th contest. They fell 32-23 to Sterling on Wednesday. Pawnee City has not had much luck with Sterling recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Hallye Friedly, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Osborne, who scored four points along with 13 rebounds.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Pawnee City, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 33.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Pawnee City, though, as they've been averaging only 27.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer strolled past Pawnee City in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 43-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
