Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Shakur Starling and Wayne Fletcher II Lead Central Dauphin to Victory

Central Dauphin lost to Parkland back in December of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Central Dauphin Rams enjoyed a cozy 53-36 win over the Parkland Trojans. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Trojans are ranked 200th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Central Dauphin to victory were Wayne Fletcher II and Shakur Starling. Fletcher II posted 16 points in addition to eight boards and four steals, while Starling went 6 of 7 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance also gave Starling a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Jelani Easter, who put up 11 points and five rebounds.

The victory made it two in a row for Central Dauphin and bumps their season record up to 8-1. As for Parkland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Dauphin will host Harrisburg at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Dauphin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67.4 points per game this season. As for Parkland, they will challenge East Stroudsburg South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Stroudsburg South has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
