On Friday, Hayti took a serious blow against Miller, falling 34-6. Hayti has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Miller's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Caden Calvin led the charge by rushing for 147 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Jarod Lung, who rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Miller's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Jaxon Fris and his two sacks.
Hayti's defeat was their sixth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.7 points per game. As for Miller, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.
Hayti does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Miller will take on Marionville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Marionville will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
