South Florence is returning to their home court after beating Wilson on theirs, despite the fact Wilson has dominated at home this season. South Florence secured a 47-42 W over Wilson on Friday.
South Florence found their leader in sophomore Harmony Bostick, who posted 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Amari Gamble, who had six points along with seven boards and three steals.
South Florence smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Crestwood suffered their closest defeat since December 7, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of Lakewood by a score of 54-51.
Loss or not, Crestwood got some senior leadership from London Vaughn and Saniya Williams. Vaughn went 9 of 18 to rack up 22 points in addition to five assists and five steals, while Williams went 8 for 19 on her way to 20 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Vaughn has scored all season.
Crestwood has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for South Florence, they pushed their record up to 14-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: South Florence has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Crestwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.7 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
South Florence didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Crestwood in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory.
