The Centennial Patriots will face off against the Timberline Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centennial is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.
Centennial made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Borah, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Lions on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Charlize Veldhouse'27 made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

Those two home runs gave Cali a new career-high. Bailey Simpson ?26 was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Timberline faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolves fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by just one run.
Delaney Wright spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Mallorie Casch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one double. That triple was her first of the season.
This is the second loss in a row for Timberline and nudges their season record down to 11-3. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Centennial, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Centennial hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
