Oliver Ames had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They had victory within their grasp but couldn't quite capture it on Friday as the team lost 19-20 to Concord-Carlisle. Things were expected to be close, but in this case the state rankings mixed up the winning team. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Oliver Ames off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving Concord-Carlisle a 1-0 record.
Next week Oliver Ames take on Silver Lake Regional at Oliver Ames HS Field at 7:00 PM. As for Concord-Carlisle, they will face off against Lexington.
