Poquoson is 0-10 against Smithfield since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Poquoson Islanders will head out on the road to challenge the Smithfield Packers at 7:00 p.m. Poquoson is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, Poquoson lost to York on the road by a decisive 56-38 margin. Poquoson has struggled against York recently, as their game on Wednesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Khaleo Smith, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayne Galacgac, who scored nine points.
Meanwhile, Smithfield had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 49-42 victory over Warhill on Wednesday.
Poquoson's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Smithfield, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Poquoson was taken down by Smithfield 81-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Poquoson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
