The Ada Cougars lost against the Plainview Indians back in January of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Ada took a 51-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainview. While losing is never fun, Ada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while Plainview is ranked 148th).
Plainview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emilee Hedger out in front who scored 13 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hedger has scored at least 25% of Plainview's points. Marya Southerland was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and four steals.
Ada's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
After both having extra time off, Ada and Heritage Hall will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Plainview and Lone Grove will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
