The Dewar Dragons will face off against the Varnum Whippets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dewar will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
Dewar's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over Stroud. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won 20 games by six runs or more so far this season.

S. Yaeger

03/24/25 vs Kiowa | 15 |
S. Yaeger was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on P. Kilhoffer, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was L. Hankins, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Dewar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .657. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stroud only posted an OBP of .368.
Meanwhile, Varnum unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Tupelo by a score of 4-3.
Like Dewar, Varnum also got a great game from a two-way player: Aiden Cooper. He pitched six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Cooper was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Cooper wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Payton Romines, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Dewar's win was their 39th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Varnum, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
Everything went Dewar's way against Varnum in their previous matchup back in March of 2022, as Dewar made off with a 21-0 win. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Whippets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
