Ord's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Garret Severance led the charge by en route to 17 points and six boards. The dominant performance gave Severance a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Williams, who to rack up 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Holdrege against Hershey on Friday as the squad secured a 92-38 win. The Dusters have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Ord better keep an eye on Garret Johnson. He was instrumental in Holdrege's win, dropping a triple-double with 28 points, ten boards, and ten assists. The game was Johnson's 22nd in a row with at least 15 points. Baron Medina was another key player, on his way to 25 points and eight rebounds.
Holdrege smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.
Holdrege's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.7 points over those games. As for Ord, their record is now 11-13.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ord has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 27.9 boards per game. However, it's not like Holdrege struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.1 rebounds.
