Meanwhile, Cesar E. Chavez came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Wildcats.
The team relied heavily on Daniela Rivera, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevay Vasquez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.
Cesar E. Chavez pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Atascocita, their win bumped their record up to 17-3.
Saturday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Atascocita has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .488. However, it's not like Cesar E.
