Northgate has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Campolindo Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Northgate beat the Dons 56-52. Given Northgate's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Dons are ranked 478th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jake Andjus was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. Jacob Ebrahimi was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Campolindo's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 70-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ygnacio Valley.
Northgate has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Campolindo, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
Northgate might still be hurting after the 56-35 defeat they got from the Cougars when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Thankfully for Northgate, Logan Robeson (who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
