LARKSPUR, Calif. -
Redwood (Larkspur, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 57-7 win over San Rafael (Calif.).
The Giants scored 14 points in the first quarter. Redwood scored on a touchdown run by
Ramteen Raffi and a
Khari Haynes touchdown run.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Raffi in the first quarter, RHS led 31-0 at the half.
The Larkspur school grew its lead to 50 points entering the fourth quarter. The Giants scored three times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Carl Mesker.
Redwood's standout player in the win was
Omid Izadjou. He ran for two touchdowns.
San Rafael's lone touchdown came on a run in the fourth quarter.
RHS also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-6.
The victory was a step in the right direction for the Larkspur school, which was coming off a 26-3 defeat at the hands of San Marin in its previous game. The loss was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
