Dresden (Tenn.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 23-14 victory over
Gleason (Tenn.) on Saturday. The Lions captured the lead for good when
Devan Raymer ran for a touchdown.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Chase Ezell, the Bulldogs went into halftime with a 14-7 lead. The Lions took the lead for good with a touchdown run by Raymer in the fourth quarter.
With the win Dresden extended its winning streak to nine games. DHS defeated the Panthers 42-3 last week.
Gleason's Ezell played well. The junior running back ran for one touchdown.
Raymer stood out for the Lions in the win. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns.
Dresden had given up an average of 8.9 points prior to the contest.
When the two teams played each other last season, DHS came away with a 34-6 victory.
The loss comes after Gleason defeated Fulton City 20-0 last week.
Gleason (4-4) goes up against Scotts Hill in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Dresden (9-0) locks horns with Huntingdon in a A District 13 game.
