The Crestwood Red Devils waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 58-47 win over Berkshire. Given Crestwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Berkshire is ranked 607th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Crestwood to victory were Charlie Schweickert and Dekota Johnson. Schweickert scored 18 points, while Johnson scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Augie Schweickert, who scored seven points along with two steals and two blocks.
Crestwood pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Berkshire, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Crestwood will take on Aurora at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Aurora's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Berkshire, they will be playing at home against Independence at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. Independence and Berkshire are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
