The Dixie Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Thornwell Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thornwell took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dixie, who comes in off a win.
Dixie scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They blew past South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind 55-23 at home. Dixie has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 22 points or more this season.
Dixie found their leader in underclassman Jaylia Turner, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Allie Simpson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Thornwell came up short against the Wolverines on Monday and fell 27-19.
Dixie is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Thornwell, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Everything came up roses for Dixie against the Saints in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 36-5 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dixie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
