Wiregrass Ranch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .345 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Wesley Chapel scored first but ultimately less than Pasco in their game on Tuesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.
Wesley Chapel also got a good showing from Ashley Bolt, who didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Wesley Chapel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madisen Stewart, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Juliana Martin was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Wiregrass Ranch's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Wesley Chapel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-8.
Wiregrass Ranch's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's match. The Bulls have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Wesley Chapel, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Wiregrass Ranch continue to outrun the ball?
Wiregrass Ranch suffered a grim 15-9 defeat to Wesley Chapel in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Bulls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
