Basketball Recap: Southwest Virginia Academy Takes a Loss

Southwest Virginia Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 73-68 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christchurch School Seahorses.

Despite the loss, Southwest Virginia Academy still got an impressive performance from Gabriel Bishop, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 31 points. Bishop's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Bishop, who went 6 of 11 en route to 16 points.

Southwest Virginia Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Christchurch School, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Southwest Virginia Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 81-44 loss against North Cross on the 13th. As for Christchurch School, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-31 win against Life Christian Academy on the 11th.
