The Central Raiders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Caldwell 70-38 at home. The victory was nothing new for Central as they're now sitting on five straight.
Caldwell's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Jackson Risley, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds, and Layten Caruthers who scored six points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Caruthers pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Caldwell struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Central's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for Caldwell, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Central will head out on the road to face off against Argonia at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Argonia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 316th, while Central is ranked 123rd). As for Caldwell, they will be playing at home against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Oxford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday.
