Edwards County dropped their record down to 13-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's six-game streak of wins. They lost 9-0 to the Farina South Central Cougars. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Lions were not able to get on the board.

Edwards County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hensley, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for Farina South Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by seven runs or more this season.

On Farina South Central's side, Callaway SSmith made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. SSmith has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Farina South Central: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Farina South Central let Colton Smith and Chase Guerrettaz run wild. Smith went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI, while Guerrettaz went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That run marked the first that Guerrettaz has scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Hoover, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
