The Memorial Roughriders and the Perkins Pirates squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Memorial Roughriders had to settle for second. Memorial fell 28-21 to Perkins. Memorial's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Perkins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Isaac Bunts led the charge by rushing for 77 yards and a touchdown, while also catching a touchdown. Perkins also got help from Weston Sturzinger who showed off his sure hands for 88 receiving yards.
Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Perkins, they have yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record.
Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Perkins will stay at home for another week and welcome West Holmes at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. West Holmes will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Perkins is ranked 17th).
