After a string of five wins, the Idalia Wolves's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-24 walloping at the hands of Eads. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, Idalia couldn't push the score so high this time.
When it comes to explaining why Idalia lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kiersten Wingfield. Despite the final result, she scored six points. Wingfield continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eads to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anna Wollert, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. Wollert hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tailee Weeks-Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Idalia's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Eads, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idalia will take on Flagler at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Flagler is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Eads, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Cheraw at 4:00 p.m.
