The Sweetwater Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Preuss UCSD Tritons at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sweetwater's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though Kearny scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Sweetwater still came out on top. Sweetwater walked away with a 66-57 win over Kearny.
Daniel Arce was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points. Arce set a new season high mark in points with 27. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Saludares, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Preuss UCSD had to endure a 12-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Chula Vista Learning Community Charter with a 35-29 victory on Friday. The win was just what Preuss UCSD needed coming off of a 74-31 loss in their prior matchup.
Sweetwater's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Preuss UCSD, their win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
