Given South Wake's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while St. David's is ranked 318th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Wake's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jacob Webb, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists, and Ira Wilson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Jackson Jones, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, O'Neal managed to keep up with Fayetteville Christian until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. O'Neal ended up on the wrong side of a tough 47-27 walloping at the hands of Fayetteville Christian. O'Neal has struggled against Fayetteville Christian recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
South Wake is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for O'Neal, their loss dropped their record down to 0-17.
