The Katahdin Cougars will take on the Southern Aroostook Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Katahdin will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Katahdin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Washburn a 21-0 shutout on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Calvin Richardson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Katahdin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washburn only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Southern Aroostook's offense. They lost 6-0 to Hodgdon on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Hawks: they've now lost eight in a row.
Katahdin's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Southern Aroostook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Katahdin has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Southern Aroostook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Katahdin's way against Southern Aroostook when the teams last played on May 13th, as Katahdin made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
