Given South Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Kouts is ranked 329th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
South Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Marks, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marks has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sadie Marks, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
South Central's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.1 points per game. As for Kouts, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
South Central will face off against Tri-Township at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Tri-Township is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Kouts, they will head out on the road to face off against Illiana Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Illiana Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
