The West Hall Spartans''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-12 walloping at the hands of Pickens. West Hall lost against Pickens in their previous head to head on Friday, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 35-12 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why West Hall lost, one person who can't be blamed is Elijiah Hayes. Despite the final result, he rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Hayes' longest rush was for an incredible 85 yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pickens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sam Streicher, who rushed for eight yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 230 yards and a touchdown while completing 87.5% of his passes. Miguel Salto and his 97 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Pickens' win.
West Hall's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 8.3 points per game. As for Pickens, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
West Hall does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pickens is also done with their season.
