The Wilmington Hurricane will head out on the road to take on the Batavia Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Wilmington is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Wilmington ended up a good deal behind Goshen and lost 70-53. While losing is never fun, Wilmington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 600th, while Goshen is ranked 81st).
Meanwhile, even though Clinton-Massie scored an imposing 55 points on Friday, Batavia still came out on top. Batavia managed a 60-55 victory over Clinton-Massie. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Batavia.
Wilmington has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. As for Batavia, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.
Wilmington couldn't quite finish off Batavia when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 55-52. Can Wilmington avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
