They blew past Desert Christian 84-60. Winning may never get old, but North Valley Christian Academy sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Bobby Rodriguez continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 3 assists. The match was his ninth in a row with at least ten points. Zac Ruelas was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Desert Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Dobbins, who scored 18 points. Dobbins scored a full 30% of Desert Christian's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Brown, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds.
North Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 6-5 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.71 points. As for Desert Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Valley Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Baboquivari at 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. Baboquivari will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Desert Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Augustine Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th.
