Bishop Gorman entered their tilt with Sierra Vista on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions with a sharp 9-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 20-0 last Wednesday.

MAKAMAE EUGENIO made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other pitching news, Bishop Gorman got a great performance from GIANNA HORNYAK as she struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on CHARLIE SIMI, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. SAMANTHA LEFEVER was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

Bishop Gorman's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Sierra Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Bishop Gorman will square off against Coronado at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Gorman's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Coronado's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sierra Vista, they will challenge Southeast Career Tech at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
