Miramonte had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Benicia Panthers on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Matadors as they're now sitting on five straight.
Miramonte walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). The final score came out to 25-22, 25-19, 16-25, 25-15.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zoe Cohen, who had 24 digs and three aces. Cohen is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last 12 games she's played.
Miramonte's victory bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Benicia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season.
Miramonte is taking a road trip to face off against Vintage at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Benicia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
