On Tuesday, the Jackson Prep Patriots faced the Jackson Academy Raiders in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Jackson Prep fell 52-39 to the Raiders. If Jackson Prep was looking for revenge after losing 60-55 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Jackson Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Marcus Goodloe out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Schyler Chambers was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Jackson Prep's loss dropped their record down to 20-8. As for Jackson Academy, the victory was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-1.
Jackson Prep will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Mississippi (Hartfield Academy is ranked 30th, while the Patriots are ranked 12th). As for Jackson Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Patriots at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
