The South View Tigers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Jack Britt Buccaneers at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully South View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 40 on Friday.
After a string of four wins, South View's good fortune finally ran out. The matchup between South View and Cape Fear wasn't particularly close, with South View falling 56-42. South View has struggled against Cape Fear recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jayla Blue, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Nahmiah Aekins, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, South View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Jack Britt stacked a fourth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Everything went their way against Purnell Swett as Jack Britt made off with a 53-32 win. The victory was just what Jack Britt needed coming off of a 64-39 loss in their prior contest.
South View's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Jack Britt, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
South View came up short against Jack Britt when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 51-46. Can South View avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
