With a playoff game on the line, the Alva Goldbugs rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against Chandler by a score of 16-6. The win made it back-to-back wins for Alva.
Alva's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cambell Gaisford, who rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown. Gaisford was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Alva is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Kingston the next time they take the field. Alva will head out to face Kingston on Friday, while Chandler will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
