The Spring Creek Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 51-14 defeat at the hands of Lowry. Spring Creek has not had much luck with Lowry recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Lowry's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Britain Backus led the charge by scoring 14 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Backus has scored at least 25% of Lowry's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Stoker, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Spring Creek bumped their record down to 4-6 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.0 points per game. As for Lowry, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.
Spring Creek will head out on the road to face off against Churchill County at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Churchill County is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Lowry, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Elko at 1:00 p.m. Elko is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
