Baseball Game Preview: Sierra Lutheran Falcons vs. Silver Stage Nighthawks

For the second straight game, Sierra Lutheran will face off against Silver Stage. The Falcons will welcome the Nighthawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Sierra Lutheran has lost six straight at home , while Silver Stage has lost 14 on the road (dating back to last season).

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Sierra Lutheran turned things around against Silver Stage on Tuesday. They walked away with a 15-10 win over the Nighthawks.

Matt Fahey was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Sierra Lutheran is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-9-1 otherwise. Fahey was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

In other batting news, Sierra Lutheran got a massive performance out of Grayson Ricks, who scored four runs and stole eight bases while going 4-for-5. With that strong performance, Ricks is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game. Noah Ramirez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Sierra Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .425. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Sierra Lutheran's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 3-10-1. As for Silver Stage, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Sierra Lutheran has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Silver Stage struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
