The Rosary Academy Royals will take on the University Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
University will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Rosary Academy extended their winning streak to 15 on Wednesday. Everything went the Royals' way against Northwood as they made off with an 11-1 victory.
Ava Phillips looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 16 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jenna Caldera was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Huerta, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and one stolen base.
Rosary Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 16 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, University hadn't done well against Laguna Hills recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Trojans blew past the Hawks 15-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Carson Cruz made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Cruz was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Amela Hoang was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Sienna Gillen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
Rosary Academy pushed their record up to 24-2-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for University, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Rosary Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .402. However, it's not like University struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rosary Academy took their victory against University in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 11-0 score. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
