After four games on the road, Bandera is heading back home. They will take on The Devine Warhorses at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Bandera didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Pearsall, but they still walked away with a 26-22 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bandera to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jesse Cardenas, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also threw for 84 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes. Juan Cabrera was another key contributor, rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Devine fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They enjoyed a cozy 21-6 victory over Carrizo Springs on Friday.
Bandera has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matches, giving them a 6-1 record. As for Devine, their win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-3.
Bandera was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Devine when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Bandera have more luck at home instead of on the road?
